Day 1: Departure from Entebbe Airport

Queen Elizabeth is a seven hour’s drive from Entebbe and Kampala city. This means it is possible to proceed with your road trip to the park on this day it if you arrive at Entebbe Airport before 10am (that’s if you are not too exhausted). Better still, in the event that you wish to spend this day resting so you can travel the next day, we can arrange for you an overnight stay in Kampala or Entebbe.

During your journey to the park, there will be five stopovers at unique tourism attractions along the way. This includes the Equator Crossing, Igongo Museum and cultural village,

On arrival, you will check into a hotel/lodge of your choice. Before dinner, you will be treated to enchanting cultural performances by dancers from the village that neighbours the park.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

In an effort to enable you register sightings of most wildlife, the morning game drive will start early morning. That way, you will see animals when they are in their most active start, searching for a bush breakfast. The game drive will last about three hours in an open Savannah where, predators like leopards camouflage to stock prey. In the interest of conservation, driving off track is forbidden. However, this isn’t much of a problem as there is an even distribution of tracks that affords clear views of kobs, elephants, buffaloes and toppi among others. Even better, the car aboard which you will pursue this drive has a pop up roof that makes it possible to view wildlife up-close without compromising on your safety.

You will also explore Ishasha Sector, a wood land in the Southern hemisphere of the park. It credits its popularity to its healthy concentration of tree climbing lions.

Later in the day, you will pursue a two hours sunset boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, a vast river that connects two freshwater lakes; Lake George and Lake Edward.  This guided adventure offers a relaxed way of viewing over 70% of the wildlife to which the park is home. It is their favourite refreshing point. It is equally a favourite home for an array of bird species.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Return to Kampala/Entebbe

A visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park is incomplete without a chimpanzee trekking excursion in Kyambura Gorge. At this underground forest, a 1-4 hours trek leads to a random location where a family of chimpanzee is roaming in search for food.  The walk offers a thrilling climbing challenge due to the relatively steep nature of some stretches of the valley system.

Once through, you will have a healthy lunch at the lodge and set off for Kampala/Entebbe ahead of your flight to your next destination.
