Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is an extraordinary eco-tourism destination. It is home to over 50% of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas. At this mountain jungle in Western Uganda, you will track one of the 18 habituated families, each of which comprises 7-33 members of different age brackets. 4 Days Mountain Gorilla Tracking Tour

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival at the airport, our driver guide will pick you up for transfer to any hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe for an overnight stay. You will spend the rest of the day resting as you recover from the exhaustion of the flights. Alternatively, you can head out for a city tour of Kampala, a vibrant metropolis with lots of fascinating cultural and historical sites.

Overnight stay at any beachfront hotel of your preference! If you are having a hard time deciding and need our opinion, most of our clients who have been to Speke Resort Munyonyo remember it as a worthwhile option. It is a five star beachfront resort overlooking Africa’s biggest freshwater lake, Lake Victoria.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Considering that Bwindi is 9 hours’ drive away from Kampala, you will set off early, by 7 am. The adventure will take a road trip format with lots of stopovers at legendary tourism attractions along the way. These include Igongo Cultural museum, tea plantations, equator and western arm of the rift valley.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi

The gorilla tracking experience takes 1-5hours depending on the proximity of the random setting where these majestic giants are rummaging on the day of your visit. In the interest of offering nature lovers a quality experience, the maximum number of tourists allowed to see each family is 8. Considering that some parts of the climb are steep, we can help you hire a local porter to carry your luggage as you journey through the forest.

Gorilla tracking is a first class ticket for you to encounter the other flora and fauna of the park. Having survived the last Ice Age, this 25,000 year old highland boasts of an outstanding biodiversity. In addition to having over 120 mammal species, it is home to over 350 bird species, 23 of which are endemic to the Albertan rift valley. Back to the mammals, residents include forest elephants, chimpanzees, giant forest hogs, golden cats and plentiful of monkey species.

At the end of your walk through this lush jungle, you will return to your lodge, to rest as you soak upunobstructed views of the mountain scenery.

Day 4: Journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport

After breakfast, you will set off for Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport ahead of your departure. If time allows, we shall take you to the craft village for shopping of souvenirs. Here, you will find lots of beautiful hand crafted gifts to take home. They range from sculptures of primates (both big and small pieces), clothing, jewellery, hats, paintings, wall hangings and the like.
