This midrange trip offers you a great way to experience the enchanting wilderness of Kenya’s favourite national park, and Tanzania’s. It starts from Nairobi city and climaxes in Arusha ahead of your departure to your next destination via Kilimanjaro International Airport. During this safari, you will witness the spectacular wildebeest migration as it unfolds from Masai Mara to Serengeti. As hundreds of antelope, thousands of zebra and millions of wildebeest migrate between the two parks, you will see lots of lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalo.

6 Days Masai Mara & Serengeti Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta & transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru

Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost. Today’s breakfast will be followed with a drive through the Rift Valley en route for Nakuru. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. After a brief rest, you will head out for afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park, a destination that is named after a lake that covers over 50% of its surface area. Among the animals you will find during this two hour’s excursion include white and black rhino, Rothschild giraffe, lion, as well as leopard. During your time at the lakeside, expect to find lots of both greater and lesser flamingoes.

Day 2: Drive from Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Reserve

Have breakfast and depart for Masai Mara National Reserve. Following your arrival, you will start off with an en-route game drive to the lodge, arriving in time for lunch at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge. The drive will introduce you to a mix of predators and prey including elephant, Masai giraffe, rhino, Burchell’s zebra, buffalo, black-maned lion, antelopes, leopard and cheetah.

You will spend the afternoon at leisure, and crown the evening with another game drive. Magic awaits you on this exploratory drive. You will be see lots of low hills in the savannah grasslands, patches of forest on the Mara River, and river tributaries that are shared by crocodiles and hippos.

Also to be seen is the secretary bird, Masai ostrich, saddle billed stork and the crested crane.

Once done, you will return to Jambo Mara Safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive at Masai Mara

Today, you will wake up to an optional hot air balloon safari ride priced at US$450.00 per person. Alternatively, you could start the day with a morning game drive in search of lions, particularly the superb black-maned males, as well as millions of wildebeest and other antelopes crossing the mighty Mara River. Expect to see large herd of African buffalo, elephants, as well as leopard, rhino and cheetah.

In the evening, you will visit the Masai village for an awesome dose of cultural treats.

Day 4: Drive from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and depart for the Kenya/Tanzania border known as Isibania/Sirare. Upon clearing with the immigration department, you will switch to another vehicle as driven by your new tour guide. Following your arrival in Serengeti, you will have an en-route game drive on your way to the camp.

You will arrive at your camp in time for dinner and a relaxing evening at Kati Kati tented camp (full board).

Day 5: Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

The main activity for today is a full day game drive and nature walk in central Serengeti. You have the option to take a packed lunch or return to the lodge at 1pm for a hot lunch. While in the wilderness of Serengeti, you will experience superb game-viewing even if it is not migration time. There is a lot to see; vast herds of buffalo, topi, eland, waterbuck, Grant’s gazelle, impala, kongoni, big cats, as well as smaller cats, such as the jackal, caracal, fox, genet and mongoose.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Departure from Arusha

Start your day with a bush breakfast and head out for a morning game drive in the south-east of the park towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. At noon, you will have a picnic lunch and later depart for Arusha ahead of your departing flight.
