8 Days Awesome Wildlife Safari in Tanzania

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and 5 star experience of the lodge

On arriving at Arusha through Kilimanjaro International airport, our driver guide will transfer you to any lodge of your choice. If you are a fan of luxury, one of the options that is likely to awaken your sense of wonder is Legendary Lodge. It is a colonial style luxury that set in lush tropical gardens on a coffee farm just outside Arusha. All its twelve garden cottages are beyond amazing. They have views of Mountain Meru which is synonymous with stunning sunrise. Watching the clouds hover just below its peak is awesome. You can take in all these views from the comfort of your veranda.

At night, you will be treated to a welcome dinner after which our head guide will brief you on how your trip will unfold.

Day 2: Safari to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, checkout of your room and head out to Tarangire National Park. Its savannah landscape is sustained by the life giving waters of Tarangire River. Here, you will stay at Olivers Camp, an eco-friendly lodge that is tucked away from crowds and close to an area that attracts huge herds of elephants—that will capture your heart with their family spirit and playful nature. Here you can watch their cheerful babies bathe and play in water. At night, you will be treated to a magical private dinner and a fabulous camp fire.

After lunch, you will have a brief rest and later set off for an afternoon game drive in search of giraffes, waterbucks, wildebeest, zebras and elephants, hartebeest, gazelles and birds the including the giant martial eagle.

Day 3: Abundant Game Viewing in Tarangire National Park

You will have a guided morning game drive in search for animals you didn’t register luck in seeing the previous day. Its quite common to sight leopards lazing in a tree or less than 3 metres from our truck, especially on the way back to camp. Back at the Olivers lodge, you will find a bush breakfast experience awaiting your arrival. The hosts are full of heart. So authentic and you feel like they have opened their home to you

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, checkout of the Olivers Camp and cross the Great Rift Valley where the Ngorongoro Conservation Area sits. Among the experiences the await you today includes a cultural immersion treat. You will visit the Maasai community in their homesteads, locally known as enkangs. On the part of wildlife, your will find a fascinating mixture of the Big 5 animals and birds in the natural ring of Ngorongoro Crater, a 2,000-foot- deep caldera. This includes flamingos.

Later in the day, you will check into Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, a super luxurious property with a garden where elephants often pass. Thanks to the lodge’s location on the rim of Ngorongoro crater, you will have unmatched views that will leave you feeling 10 days younger.

Day 5: Game Drives in Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater and explore a natural wildlife haven with lots of elephants, zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, buffalos, and rhinos. They are attracted to the floor of the crater (due to its abundance of fresh grass and natural pools with mineral-rich water. One of the most fascinating parts of this adventure is driving down the densely forested crater walls into the floor of the crater.You will feel like you are entering a lost world where there is non-stop animal action.

In terms of size, Ngorongoro conservation area covers over 8000km sq. This massive space features a couple of volcanic calderas and soaring volcanic peaks, some of which are still active. If you have been wanting to see a lava lake as it hisses, steams and bubbles away, this place will charm you. In its tangled forests, you will find monkeys swinging and colourful birds flitting away.

Day 6: Safari to Serengeti National Park

Checkout of Ngorongoro Crater lodge and drive to Serengeti, a sort of condensed Africa all confined in one little area. You will be checked in at Asilia Dunia, a permanent tented camp strategically located in central Serengeti; in the popular Moru Kopjes and Serenora. This area that offers fantastic game viewing all year around. Have lunch and go for an evening game drive that will be crowned with a sundowner cocktail before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 7: Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

As you drive through the park, you will experience such a vivid impression of the African wilderness. Sometimes, it can take a several hours of driving across the hypnotic immensity without seeing anything much, just a few toppi on a hill or hyenas searching for leftovers- then suddenly BOOMMM, you are in the middle of a huge herd of over 5,000 wildebeest. Before long, you start to see both lions and cheetahs feasting on a fresh kill. The sighting is enhanced by other sizeable mammals like Thomson’s gazelles, impala, giraffe, warthog, eland, dik dik, waterbuck, bushbuck, and a variety of birds.

If you plan your trip around early July or November-December, you will be witness the renowned annual migration as mass herds of zebras and wildebeest journey towards Kenya’s Masai Mara.

Day 8: Transfer to Arusha & Departure

After a relaxed breakfast, we shall take you to the nearby airstrip for a brief flight to Arusha, where you will rest at the Legendary Lodge for a few hours, after which you will be driven to Kilimanjaro airport for your departing flight.
